Yggdrasil Wins EGR Best Slots Provider 2nd Year Running
If you’re a frequent reader of our reviews, you’ll probably know that we’re fans of Yggdrasil. This is a casino game developer that has taken the industry by storm, introducing players to new ideas and great games with a lot of focus on creativity and fun. Well, it seems that we aren’t the only ones behind Yggdrasil. The company recently won the EGR Slot Provider of the Year award for the second year in a row. The award ceremony was held in London and is considered a major event in the world of online gaming.
Yggdrasil’s headquarters are in Malta with a regional office in Gibraltar, but the company’s major development centre is in Krakow, Poland. Yggdrasil holds licenses in Malta, Romania, Gibraltar and the United Kingdom.
On winning the award for the second time, Yggdrasil’s CEO Fredrik Elmqvist said, “Winning Slot Provider of the Year at the EGR B2B Awards two years running is a tremendous achievement and shows just how far we have come in a short space of time.
“Retaining this huge award shows we’re doing the right things – producing high-quality slots with outstanding graphics, supported by the most creative in-game promotional tools on the market, and all built on our solid and mobile friendly platform.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has worked so hard to make this possible. We’ve got an absolutely brilliant team and retaining this award will only spur us on to work even harder to create the very best products for our customers.”
To understand how big of a deal this is, you only have to look at the competitors in this category. The list of companies that Yggdrasil competed against includes Microgaming, NetEnt, Playtech, and IGT, all major players with huge resources. Yggdrasil is a small and inexperienced game supplier in comparison to these brands, but has quickly proven to be a potent source of high quality gaming concepts.
The EGR judges chose Yggdrasil once again because of the variety, quality and consistence displayed by the company as it releases winner after winner. Some Yggdrasil games that you might be familiar with are Nirvana, Seasons, Monkey King, and the progressive jackpot Joker Millions. Other popular Yggdrasil titles are Jokerizer, Wicked Circus and Casino Zepellin. All of these games are great slots packed with vibrant graphics and lots of surprises, but also true to the spirit of what a good slot game should be.
Don’t think that Yggdasil is just another good slot game developer though. The company created something pretty revolutionary last year when it released its BRAG feature. The BRAG feature is a fun little piece of software that’s integrated into Yggdrasil’s slots. The feature lets you replay your last 10 spins as a video, and then share it on social networks. We loved this idea and it’s no surprise that it’s proved to be very popular amongst players. It’s one thing to tell another slot player how and what you won, but to show it actually unfold in the game is much more engaging and fun to watch.
Yggdrasil CEO Fredrik Elmqvist said, “There is nothing wrong with a bit of bragging, and with Yggdrasil’s new BRAG tool we are giving players the opportunity to share their success with the world. He added, “Once again Yggdrasil has launched an industry-first innovation which has the potential to drive revenues for operators and create a more engaging experience for users. There will be plenty more to come from BRAG, with new features to be rolled out in the coming months.”
This is definitely an impressive start for a company that’s so young in relation to its competitors. We’re looking forward to seeing future releases and innovations from Yggdrasil.
